Re: 2007 Honda Fit
I've been dealing with this awful stuttering problem with my '07 Honda Fit as well. I've had it since late 2006 and the problem only started late summer of 2012 and I've got about 90k miles on it now. I've taken it to the dealership three times. The first time, I needed a new battery anyway and they kept telling me they couldn't 'duplicate' the jittering problem. It would mainly only do it while stopped.
The second time around, it was really bad and would do it while driving as well. My check engine light finally came on and they told me that they could tell the car was 'misfiring' and they said they needed to do coil replacement and valve adjust. This was over $600. My car was great for exactly a week to the day and then it started hiccuping yet again.
It is in the shop today and they are telling me they don't know what's wrong but they could see the lights flicker. They told me that the alternator can't pull enough juice from the (new) battery and that the car is small and uses a small battery...so they can't put a bigger battery in it. They pretty much told me it was a design flaw of the car and to deal with it. I told them that was pretty crappy and the guy just goes "well ma'am, I can't say that." I'm about to go bother them in person about it. What a lame excuse.

Re: 2007 Honda Fit engine light and coil packs
Hi, New to forum, My 2007 Honda Fit Sport, just reached 100 K. Engine light on and code read 10 misfires. Mechanic perplexed but think its the coil packs. Car seems to be driving fine. Am going to go with the coil packs. He tells me if that does not fix it, it could be the "computer" which can cost 800 - 1000 dollars. What does it mean if the computer has problems? Just had 95 K service, car has been great except for the last year. Was having the stalling out problem and finally had valve cleaning or something with valves and that fixed the problem.
Any thoughts on the coil pack replacement. Can mechanic check to see if they are bad before replacing? He says this can't be done.
Thanks

With that much mileage you can be sure it's the coil packs it's a common problem and easy to cure buy four new coil packs and install.
you need a new mechanic if he blamed this on the ECM.

This is old, but I've completely fixed the misfire issues with simple fix. See: THE official misfire fix - Unofficial Honda FIT Forums
