im not too sure about the work required putting an obd 2 engine in a obd 1 car, probably will need a jumper harness.
all h22 heads were the same. as far as i know the only difference bettween h22 heads were the LMA's.
just be sure to use the correct head gasket, the a4 block is open deck while the a1 is a close deck. u need to use the a4 head gasket.

i can honestly say in both preludes ive owned the motors have been strong so dont dispute that fact. i beat the crap outta my old prelude everyday for a year and a half put 20,000+ miles on it and never had a problem. and no twin turboing a 4 cylinder is pointless. people push enough power out of a single turbo on a prelude no need for 2

you have to use the entire rotating assembly from the H22A4 because it has larger main bearings. also make sure you use the H22A4 headgasket and youll be fine.

so i could use the block of the h22a4 and keep the head i have off the a1 such as intake mani etc. and obvs use the a4 headgasket. and have no problems? also no problem with my obd1 wiring harness etc? i know there isnt many plugs on the block just the oil pressure etc.

I would swap the entire motor, that would be easiest. Just keep the obd1 distributor and intake manifold and obd1 wiring harness and you will be fine. Your oil pump would have a few extra obd2 sensors but if you keep the obd1 dizzy then it doesnt matter and they can just go unused.

Crankshaft main journal size makes no difference if you use the ENTIRE short block/bottom end. The A1 head will work just fine on an A4 block... the only tricky part is you need to use the head gasket that matches the BLOCK and not the head. So you will need to use an A4 ('97-01 Prelude) head gasket.
