Temps to Paint Outside
Alright, I'm prepared to be flamed for being cheap, so have at me!
I'm getting ready to touch up some cancer repairs on a CRX I picked up. Generally I only do body and prep work, but am ready to try my hand a painting (although I've never really had much luck).
Anyway, I don't have a booth so I plan to paint outside. I've heard from some of the best painters say that outside is almost as good as a booth: actual sunlight, best ventilation, no dust on everything...
What is the optimum outside temp to paint? Does the flash time differ in direct sunlight?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Temps to Paint Outside
I'm not going to flame you cause I paint outside all the time here at my house except when it comes to painting a whole car. Generally, it should be around 60 degrees and sunny to be able to get a good paint job. I usually wait about 10 min or so between each coat of paint...

its not dust you have to worry about its insects and pollnating plants.
Dont paint it in spring months...all kinds of stuff is hatching....and wet the ground before you spray and put the car on jackstands.

I'd use a booth, but no one will rent one here in KY.
