ok, im in the mist of making a deal with mitsubishiv5 on getting his other JDM EF2 bumper support, but i want to know if it is the same as a EF8/9 support?
i know the front ends are different but are the supports as well? here is what i know: 88-91 civic bumpers are interchangeable given you stay within respective years (88-89 and 90-91) i know you can put a 88-91 EF9 bumper on an 88-89 civic HB and sedan, so this leads me to believe that the jdm supports might be similar since 88-91 civic hb and crx use the same support. the reason im looking at getting it is i dont have a jdm bumper support i only have an HF bumper support on my EF8 front end. thanks in advance. if anyone has pics of the supports next to each other can you please post them or explain if it will or will not work? |

well here is the picture of my ef2 bumper brackets. both ef2, just one has brackets welded on for projector headlights
![]() and to tell you the truth if worse comes to worse the only reason why it may not fit on your crx sir front bumper is cause the part where the bracket screws into the bumper signal light doesnt match, could be too wide? too short? just right? |

how much of a difference is there between the 90-91 civic 4DR bumper support and 90-91 crx bumper support non JDM models of course. |

Yea, I'm looking at it and it looks close to an hf support. I guess I'll just have to pick it up and see what happens.

No worries man, was just making an observation. That's where i pulled those first few pics from too, i couldn't find any others elsewhere. From the pics posted though, this is how it looks like it's going to line up: ![]() The red being the ef2 support, and the black being the CRX bumper cover. The clips on the support to hold the bumper in place don't appear to be any where near where they should be to be made use of. Regardless though, good luck. Hope you can get it to work.

well, i got out late so i didnt have a chance to bolt it up to my usdm bumper. but i did lay it on top of it and from the looks of things it looks like the 2 main bolt locations (under the corner lights) appear to line up. i will have to actually bolt it on to make sure. now the only question would be if the support will actually hold the bumper as is intended.

sadly the support didnt work. ~sp33~ you were right. it lines up and is off by 1/2 inch on the outer edges under the corner lights but it begins to flex in the middle because the crx bumper is longer on the mid section where the 3 bolts go. looks like its going on craigslist now.
