http://www.turbomagazine.com/tech/07.../photo_06.html

im having a problem with my timing belt, after taking it apart about 10 times im getting belt slap on the exhaust to crank side of the belt. i think this would solve the problem and it seems good and all but what do you all think about this?

I'd go with that one, it's all Honda OEM parts sold as a kit using the H23a1 manual tensioner. I bought this exact one and it came with everything needed, there is a write up in the FAQ on how to put it all together if you need.

But why use it when H22a and H23a1 block castings are identical so you can use reliable OEM parts that you know will work?

IMO its not a bad product, and its not meant to replace the honda tensioner from what i understand. And this product just take out a little extra slack that happens.

There is more info on this in the Drag forum I believe though.

Strange, most people complain about how tight the belt is when using the manual tensioner, not overly tight just hard to get the belt on and off.

Yeah, there is less slack, but the front side of the belt where there is a long distance from the crank gear to the cam gear, thats alot of room for flex

Adding a tensioner there (like vibrant's product) affects the cam and ignition timing. If you're going to add a suplementary tensioner then you should put it between the intake cam and the waterpump where it won't affect timing. morons

Use the manual tensioner that can be found in the FAQ to increase tension/decrease slap. The auto tensioner will fail given enough time.

i just got vibrants part fixed all problems and car runs like BRAND SPANKIN NEW + maby even better then that. i only had slack from exhaust -> crank. if i did the h23 mod it would only fix from crank -> intake cam which has enough tension. there was alot of slapping from exhaust - > crank and this fixed it

yes but in pirate's stitution hes just wants more power. me? i just dont want my timing belt to slap it self off the pullys lol. no point of putting it inbetween water pump to intake if ant slapping there. its slapping HARD inbetweeen exhaust to crank which this stopped
