wierd heater problem 96 accord
So i had very very hot heat up till about a month ago and its finally snowing/cold and ive looked over alot of stuff to see what problem was..
thermostat, heat valve opens/closes, heater **** good, ect..
Blows out on the cool side sometimes it will blow somewhat warm..
well today i was messing with it, took the glovebox out and started hitting the **** out of the heater box on the bottom it started to blow hot like it used to 3 mins later it cools down some and i have to hit the bottom of the box again..
could something be jammed in one of the main vents or heater core possibally, dont think the heater core is even in that part of the heater box im hitting but im not sure..
Its the section right behind the glove box next to the blower motor on the left side..
From the looks of it even if something is stuck in there id have to pull the whole dash to pull the duct system apart and see..
any info would be great, if not guess ill keep hitting the bottom of the box to keep warm..

Re: wierd heater problem 96 accord
Before you go off and tear apart your dashboard I would flush the core first. This is very easy and only requires a water hose and a screwdriver.
Just take off the heater tubes from the firewall, should be 2 of them right together. Run a water hose to one of the tubes and turn the water on. Let it drain out for about 5 mins. Should be a lot of black crap come out the other tube. Then switch to the other tube and repeat. Do this 3 or 4 times and it should work out for you. If you need to know anything else just let me know. I did it to my 91 accord about a month ago.
