RMXmitch's RHD dc2 build
I'll start off with not usually being a big fan of build threads. But this seems to be a start to get a name for yourself, and to get a little bit of motivation.
I'm a 19 yr old college student and from cincinnati, and a big goal of mine is to have this car at IA10. All feedback is welcome.
This is how my 1997 GSR looked before I decided to tear it apart.. Approx September 2008..
Tearing it down... (big gap in pictures here, didn't think I would want them at that point)
sawzalling out a chunk of the firewall commited me to this project.
Crappy picture, but the holes in the bay are all welded up
Time to drill some spot welds and get the rest of the firewall out
The middle console was cut out, because the car was hacked up from the previous owner installing the H-Series shifter box. Shall be fixed soon.

Re: RMXmitch's RHD dc2 build
The car sat like that for about 8 months. I did some small body work on the quarters, shaved the side moldings on the quarters and doors using 3M body glue.
I lost nearly all motivation for the car at this point, owing money for school consumed anything I had, and not being able to really do anything else to the car kind of had me bummed. Friends kept me motivated, and finally a few things started going my way.
Got a call from Towne Frieght and my long awaited package arrived..
(we were amused with the packing airbag, and NO thats not me lol)

I got the firewall set in, no welding yet and it came time to move shops.
The firewall is currently all welded in, seam sealed and all. Just got settled into the new shop, and it is about time to finish shaving the bay. I will keep this updated as progress continues. I have a few parts I need to post pics of also, but I'll need to get the camera from my buddy.

Here's a quick pic of the new shop, way more room to work than before!
Got the main seams sealed up with some 3M ultrapro sealant. The black stuff is KBS RustSeal, I brushed it on all the bare metal seams and welds to prevent problems in the future.
Really happy with the way the firewall met up with the body, with a little seamseal, it looks like the factory seam.
Got the huge hole in the console area back to an OEM state, thankfully the clip has this piece left in it.
Began laying some Evercoat Metal Glaze in the bay last night, the bay will have me busy for quite a while.
And finally the fedex guy showed up today and look what he brought...
Tons more things to take pictures of, waiting till my buddy stops back up with his nikon.
Thanks for all comments everyone, keep them coming!

Ground up builds are a financial/emotional roller coaster. These comments are awesome!
Andrew, keep working, stay motivated. And I need to borrow your car to bring my motor down to the shop.
I plan to go over all seams in the bay with 3M's two part self leveling seam seal once it is all in primer!
