2001 Civic - Engine swap, now in Limp mode
i have a 01 civic bought from a private seller. Its a ex 4dr auto. Well the guy put a new motor in it which is now a dx motor. The car wont rev pass 4000 rpms i keep reading its cuz i have to swap the ecu from a ex to a dx to match the motor. Then i also have to get it reprogrammed at honda.. any info would help plz if i knew the answer i wouldnt ask. Thannka in advance.

You waited a whopping 12 hours to bump this thread twice, complaining that you received no help. You do realize that this forum is not a business, right? People come and go as they see fit, they're not employed to be on here 24/7. So, the fact that you hadn't seen something for only 12 hours... really doesn't shock me at all. If you received no reply after a couple days, then I'd start feeling more disappointed.
As for your request, you should have a CEL code displayed for the car to be in Limp mode (aka. not revving past 4,000 RPM's). But, from what you've described, you already know your problem. You have mismatched the ECU and engine platforms (VTEC ECU requires a couple things that your non-VTEC engine cannot supply). Get a non-VTEC ECU and have it re-programmed at a dealership to get the immobilizer functioning, and you should be fine.
