My OBX lsd Review/short and sweet///pictures added
Bought it with kinda cold feet, because i didnt know if it was gonna handle around 400 HP. Got it and everything looked good, I pulled it apart just to make sure the washers were good , which they were. So i cleaned it out with brake clean and then dumped a little 30w oil in it. Closed everything up torqued it all down to 40 ft lbs. I put it in had my car tuned, had wheel spin the first time due to not having lsd but not this time. It held up to the dyno and then my hard street abuse. Last week I was pulling out of a park not even getting on it hard and it gave up on me. Pulled everything apart and the middle gear inside of the Lsd was completely chewed up. pictures to come.
My overall review would be to avoid this LSD and save up the extra 200 for the Mfactory.
Also Obx does not even have a phone number that i can find nor will they return a email. I owned the product for less then a month!
my question is; Does anyone know where to buy the gears on the inside of the lsd?

You'd have to get a replacement gear from OBX, which they probably don't even have. You'll have a hard time getting them to honor their warranty on it, I got hit with a 30% restocking fee for a defective LSD from them. Keep us updated.

Read my post. Their lifetime warranty is crap. The LSD I had was defective. Too much runout and 3 ring gear bolts hit, so much that filing the heads didn't help. They charged me a 30% restocking fee to return it. This was supposedly hand picked to replace the previous 2 they has sent me that had the same problems.

I actually just got a number from the people I bought it from,, (sigh) ebay failed me again.
Many have sworn by them,, I however am a real user of it,, i have read on here with people making 5-600 hp and not breaking,, This one broke at 302Hp and like 240 Torque to ground, I would say 500+ is pretty rare on these..
Comment On this thread I want to hear other stories of them working or failing!

Re: My OBX lsd Review/short and sweet///pictures added
So after all this time i finally got a number to call,, i called them which they answered "Hello.." not thank u for calling OBx racing or anything sounded like a dude in his house. So i explained my situation to him and he told me to call another place to order the parts from, he said they wont honor my warranty and the seller has too,, which is incorrect I believe. So I think im pretty much S.O.L on this lsd.

I run two OBX units in auto-x every weekend and a drag car, never had any problems with them. I have installed many many OBX units for friends and customers and none of them have ever had a problem.
I recommend them to everyone!

tons of people run these with no problems. You are just the unlucky guy who got a deffective one and now you're stuck dealing with a shitty Chinese company to try to get them to make it right. It's a gamble every time, but i still recommend them.

i have one that did the same exact thing. i've installed about 30 obx lsd's and i've used 2 personally on one car making 500whp daily driven and one car making 670whp and never had any issues except for this one. the one that broke on me was a customer's and it was on an allmotor car making 220whp.

Its not how you assemble it. It doesn't matter how the washers are stacked. They are in there mainly for noise suppression. The problem is crap materials and crap processes.
Ditch the fluid you're running and run a good MTF like Torco.
