signs of a clutch going bad....
i have a jdm b16 in a 95 coupe. I bought the motor from HMOTORS about 3 months ago. I have always thought the clutch was sketchy feeling since i got the motor in. now.....every now and again it is hard for me to get it into 3 and 4th while driving. and will even grind in both sometimes while accelerating 3/4 - full throttle.

No those are signs of bad sincros on the transmassion. Signs of bad clutch would be for it to slip, witch means it would rev and not go....

+1 for checking your transmission fluid.
Also, you may have bad synchros in your transmission. When you can't shift or grind all the time that is usually because the transmission is faulty and not due to the clutch.

Re: signs of a clutch going bad....
well it doesent do it all the time and when it does it only happens when im 3/4 to full throttle. even then it does not do it ALL the time. and when i put the motor in a few months ago i filled it with honda MT fluid. so the fluid is pretty new...i know sycros do tha whole grind thing...but the motor is new. b/t 35 and 55 grand on them....(according to HMO) why would these sycros be bad?? could it have something to do with my shift linkage?

Re: signs of a clutch going bad....
check for leaks. pull the boot back on the slave cylinder, check for fluid. check under the dash on the backside of the clutch master cylinder. Clutch fluid leakage problems happen alot more than people really pay attention to, it sounds like your clutch is more or less depressurizing and not fully disengaging.
I say this because your problem happens sometimes, and also that you said it never really felt right. If you don't see any leaks try bleeding it some more.

HMO drains the transmission when they ship the engine to you, Is it possible you never filled it?
I did the same thing once!
