Default Ran into Curb, Axle problem, need to diagnose it

Well i was being foolish with 10% threat tires on my 97 Accord LX 4dr. And i hit a curb, well to make things short, Airbags Deployed = cracked windshield, my driver side axle ****ed up. i popped a spare on (the OEM size tire was too big and was scraping the fender) and was able to drive the car to the house which wasnt far away. but i need to know what i need to be looking at to get fixed, will a simple axle replacement do the job? Airbags and Windshiled isnt the problem as i can get those done later, but i just need to get this car driving again. i wish i had pix but ill explain how it looks: from the front the wheel is pointing inward, the wheel is seemed to be pushed back toward the car.

what you describe on the damage sounds more than an axle problem. take pics and post, but sometimes even pics can't capture true damage. take it to a suspension shop for a diagnostic.

This will not be repaired with a simple axle change and an alignment. It sounds like you bent (at least) the lower control arm, and also most likely the cross frame member as well. If the wheel appears tilted, you may also have bent the knuckle as well.
The shortest route to getting this car back on the road is through a frame/body shop. Stop screwing around and quit guessing. You'll spend a whole lot less in the end.

sounds high. OEM knuckle, lower control arm, axle, bushings, and other damages add up pretty quick. Add to this all the labor hours to replace.

well i mean if im going to be paying more than that i can just part that car out. Because like i said the car still drove, (not good but i mean it drove) but i mean the body shop added the cost of the airbag replacement in there too so i dont know how the numbers add up, can someone just tell me on average what i would be paying to replace OEM knuckle, lower control arm, axle, bushings.

lower control arm ~ $ 190.00
knuckle ~ $ 240.00
axle ~ $ 230.00
misc. bushings ~ $ 100.00

?? - Upper control arm ~ $ 210.00
?? - half ( int. ) shaft ~ $ 300.00
?? - radius rod ~ $ 60.00
?? - stabalizer bar ~ $ 60.00
?? - shock fork ~ $ 60.00
?? - shock assembly w/ spring ~ $ 200.00

All prices are OEM Honda dealer prices, can get some items for less money in places like Autozone/Pepboys. Some of these parts you might not need, all depends of what is damaged. All of this without even counting the airbag cost and without labor .. and what if frame is damaged ? -

man curbing a car can be expensive and if you did that much damage I would make sure that the subframe is straight as it most likely isn't after that

LOL that sounds about right!!!

i did the same **** in my 00 accord cost a little over 2000 bucks and thats cuz i had less damage than you

i had low tread, ricer-ing around and understeered right into the curb pushed the wheel back and had positive camber n ****

the lower control arm was bent back a good 15 degrees and the unibody and subframe were bent up too

there was no cosmetic damage and no axle damage or anything just that one wheel

dude they had to replace half the subframe, the LCA, sway bar links, remove the fenders and throw the car on a frame puller and get everything square

if youve read this far, the car drives better now than it ever did
its worth it to have insurance, say you goofed around a detour and hit a curb

You're certainly going to have trouble selling it as is......
