Do you highlight/select text when reading on the computer?

Just curious who else does this. Anytime I am reading something longer than a couple of sentences I usually always highlight the text to keep track of where I am at.

i dont ever do that...maybe if im reading an article thats hard to see with the different color background i might highlight it to make it more visible...

i don't do it to keep track of text....i do it completely randomly.

click...drag over a bunch of text. click again. click, drag to highlight 1/3 of the page. click...etc.

i'm sure it'd be really annoying if anyone was watching me compute. but it's an unbreakable habit for me now.

wow i just highlighted what you wrote before i read it.

yes. i have been for many many years, and it drives all my friends crazy..... till they catch it from me. now, half of my friends do it too.

lol I actually do.

I do it when it's a long read and I'm at work. I'll start with the last word in the line and highlight the next line down. I don't even notice I do it anymore, just kind of a weird habit I have now.

Exactly this. But my keyboard has a laptop-like mouse on it, so it'd be a little more tedious to do constantly. But no, I can't see how it would be useful to me.

i do it on long posts but only if i get distracted when at work so i know where i left off, then unhighlight and keep reading
