If you look closely, you can see that the entire stock valve guide was tapered from where it breaks into the port all the way to the tip. It's also tapered in the rear.
We were doing this back in the days when most of the castings we received still had stock guides that didn't have much wear. These days, pretty much every used head we see requires guide replacement and we use our radically curve-tapered Aero guides, as they offer maximum valve support with minimal flow-interfering cross-section.
At any rate, you should be in good shape if your head is like the one in the picture, but be fully aware that should you replace the guides in a head that's ported like that one, the new guide's OD's must be no larger than those of the stock guides, or the port will crack.
...And heating the head and freezing the new guides will also be essential when replacing them.

Check the guides for excessive clearances

You need precise measuring tools, have your machinist measure it. Bring him/her the valves and the head.
