So today i took off the dash of my new cb today to pull out the under dash wiring harness to replace the one that got all hacked up (stereo stollen & car alarm improperly insatlled) and also replace the clock thats all broken in the middle of the dash. So when i was taking everything apart i noticed that one of the wiring harnesses is all melted like there was a small electrical fire under the dash that melted a bunch of wires together.....( from the previous owner )....so now as long as i have the dash off and access to the wiring i was wondering how hard it is to replace the wiring harness the goes from the fuse box near the drivers side kickpanel through what appears to be going through the firewall? man im so pissed bout this !! also is there a link showing how to reconnect the under dash wiring harness and under engine harness to all the proper plugs and components , **** got kinda crazy when i was pullin everything and i was losin a little daylight so i dont quite remember where each plug connects up , besides the fact that some of the plugs have been hacked off leaving exposed wires (not by me) ...so like a said any help (how to's /links) would be much appriciated !!! oh also , where would i go about finding new harnesses? and would a haynes or chilton have all this info that im lookin for ? Thanks to eveyone who posts up somethin informative !!

Helms manual is what the dealer uses and it has EVERYTHING, chilton and haynes are a joke compared to helms. helminc.com or search google

It's not complicated to know what things connect where... but the problem is getting the dash out so you can access this harness and take it out to put another one in. It does take a few hours to get it all out, but as long as you know what's left and what's right... you won't have many problems. Keep track of the screws as you remove them.
