Hit up my FS/WTB Thread in my sig, PUT YOUR PARTS ON THIS CAR!!!

Check it out, picked this thing up from a kid locally with a broken timing belt.

The Run-Down:

Found on Craigslist as "90 Civic Sedan - Scrapped - Does Not Run!!! -$500 OBO". The posting showed some blurry shots of a little red civic with no major damage so I decided to check it out. Go out to meet the kid (probably 26 and into death metal) to find the car above. Turns out, he bought it off an older gentleman early 2008 with 118K on it. That guy kept all service records/reciepts for the car. I gave it a quick walk around and told the kid I had $400 cash on me...... he didn't hesitate

Brand spanking new tires and battery (still under warranty). LX with power windows, locks, cruise, a/c, oem tape deck, etc., etc., etc...... EVERYTHING BUT THE MOTOR IN GREAT OPERATIONAL CONDITION!!!! Paint and body are straight save for the hood (some jackass pulled on it with the hood-prop up) and a scuff on the bumper. No rips, burns, or tears on the COMPLETE interior. A few small stains but nothing that won't be taken care of shortly.

She got a good wash, wax, and Armor-all treatment last night..... GORGEOUS!!!

Next step is an LS swap and 5 spd conversion. Stay tuned as this thing will be undergoing some serious work in the months to come Motor, suspension, LS/VTEC built for boost, then boost.

/rant

Nice pick up, why not try to replace the tbelt and see if it runs! It's worked for me before!

Yeah, black interior would be great but she's sooooo clean inside she'll probably be staying blue. He bent valves when he snapped the belt. But that's the beauty of it, the B was going in anyways so I don't feel bad ditching a bad motor. Can make a little back on the good parts though, make a little donation for the budget build

Gonna try and Craigslist parts as much as possible. See just how little I can spend to put a quality ride together. She'll be sitting on a fresh B swap, 5spd conv., blues w/ sports (new of course), and a set of meshies or HX's for less than 2K

Nice find. I paid 300 for my lx sedan with a broken timing belt. Mine was manual already though, and your paint looks to be in better shape than mine is. Get to work and post progress!

Very cool find, that's nice paint especially for a Texas car. Most importantly, does the A/C work?

I think my next car will be a sedan. I haven't messed with the Civic in a while though as I've gotten back enthused about my Maximas and doing some work on them, but I really wouldn't mind picking up a sedan. I have my old d15 too that is in great shape I could stick in one

As she sits now, washed and waxed.

Even the deck lid still looks good

unless you clay bar'd the car prior, waxing it is just compounding the contaminants in the paint.

*** UPDATE 7/25/09 ***

Bit of a change in plans... Picked up a GSR swap minus the harness, axles, mounts, and shift linkage today for $999 off Craigslist. Guy says he's a member here and I'm sure he'll be chiming in eventually. Anyway, few more pieces, re-dress the motor and we'll be in business.

Pics and an update with build plans will be up shortly.
