Sooo... You want to move the ignition switch (the part the key goes into) from the column and mount it to the dash? It is uncommon to do this unless you are eliminating the steering wheel bezel as the absence of the ignition switch will leave an unsightly hole. Anyway, here are some tips.
First, rip it all apart. The biggest challenge is persuading the shear bolts away from the bracket. To do this drill a small dent into then and then tap them loose with a small screwdriver and hammer. Separate the ignition wires from the combination switches. Once the ignition is apart then you will likely need to make a snazzy bracket or something to mount it to behind the dash.
I did something sort of similar in my racecar. Because I had to build a custom steering column in order to fit my steering quickener I chose to eliminate the ignition switch. Essentially I rewired it to a main battery cutoff switch, an accessory switch, and a push-button start. Its pretty slick. The start button is in a sneaky spot in order to deter thieves.
Also, like the last guy posted. Get a manual if you are serious about this. PRICELESS!!!!
