Default Attention victims of TigerJapanese.

As another victim of TigerJapanese and their shady business tactics, I looked at what they did to me and others and decided enough is enough. The import car community should not be forced to sit back and watch TJ pull their cons and robbery with our fellow members, family or friends.

TigerJapanese knows they can take advantage of non-Canada customers and get away with it, they have proven this numerous times and you can see this by doing simple searches on google regarding bad reviews about them. They force their buyers to use Paypal to avoid the protection that credit cards offer, they did this to me by falsifying my credit card denial twice when my bank and credit card company can and have confirmed it was never ran at all. They fully know that paypal offers absolutely no protection to the buyer if the transaction was outside of eBay. The only protection you could have is if no item was received, but as long as TJ can provide proof that even a junk-filled box was sent to you, that's an item and voids any protection you may have had with paypal...this is stated in the paypal terms that you agree to when you register an account.

As stated in the link below this paragraph, there have been 21 reports to the Canadian BBB about TigerJapanese. Bare in mind this is only people that took the step to make the report, and only the people that filed on the canadian BBB page.

http://www.bbb.org/kitchener/busines...ugh-on-1083862

If you have been a victim of TigerJapanese in any form...I.E. you got a motor you didn't order, you got a motor in terrible shape, etc...and they refused to honor their return/warranty/exchange and gave you any other problems that you felt were unfair and unprofessional, please gather all the information regarding your order(s) and experience(s) and visit the links below to file claims.

https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/

http://www.bbb.org/

http://www.ic3.gov/

These are the only 3 places I could find so far to file claims against TigerJapanese, waiting to find out if any other agencies in the United States handles this type of issue, and waiting to find out if any agencies in Canada where TJ is located will handle this. I will extend the URL list as I find more options. The Ministry of Government Services in Ontario is also another very important place to contact, their consumer divisions seems to have taken an interest in what TJ is doing and I'm sure they will take action if they receive multiple reports against TJ.

The more people that step up and file claims, the better the chance that TigerJapanese is put out of business...or at least prohibited from offering their shady services over the border. This thread link was also requested by and supplied to the 3 agencies listed above, since they needed to get an idea of how many others have been victimized by TigerJapanese.

What they're doing is criminal, and should not be tolerated. This isn't me being bitter over lost money, or me trying to get them back for anything...I'm taking it upon myself to make the related Agencies/Bureaus aware of this company and their activities with consumers.

EDIT: If you would like to contact the BBB bureau directly, the one that would handle complaints against TJ, here's their contact info...

Better Business Bureau of Mid-Western Ontario
354 Charles Street, East
Kitchener, ON N2G 4L5
Phone: (519)579-3080
Fax: (519)570-0072
Email: info@mwco.bbb.org
Web: http://www.bbbmwo.ca

EDIT: I just checked their BBB report...they went from 21 reports to 24 reports in the last month. Hopefully this information and these links have reached those who were once in the situation I am in, and they filed complaints. My threads here, on my car club forum and on g2ic have reached many eyes...hopefully the word continues to spread.

I think it's safe to say that my issues has come to an end with no resolution, they just weren't willing to own up to their mistakes/errors and preferred to treat me unfairly.

On the other hand, even getting 1 person to change their mind and avoid being another victim of TJ means I was successful. I'd consider it a total victory once they are either shut down, or prohibited from peddling their cons across the border. Up there the canadians have more options to fight TJ, down here we're limited due to the border between us.

The specifics of my problem with TigerJapanese can be viewed here...

http://honda-tech.com/showthread.php?t=2580180

By looking at the timeline of events in that thread, you can pretty much piece together the system TJ uses to screw their customers, which I noted in the first post of this thread. No matter how many of their requests you fulfill, they'll find a new way to block you from getting a refund or exchange...while insulting you/threatening you with lawyers in the process.

They can't scam you guys this easily...you're within jurisdiction to file a report with the authorities or start a law suit. A national border puts a 'wrench in the gears' for stuff like this.

Shady business overseas often do this, the hassle of not being able to return the item, or is too costly forces the victim to absorb the loss.

While...when you found out they didn't run the card by your bank that should've been a big red flag...they're playing with PayPal's screwed up policy.

I should have taken the credit card thing as a red flag, I should have looked in to reviews on TJ before ordering even though past experience gave me no reason to, I should have quick-inspected the motor at the shipping company's warehouse and rejected it right then and there before accepting it and bringing it home...all sorts of should have's.

I guess it could be worse...I could be out the money with absolutely no motor at all to show for it. At least now everyone that was screwed by them can see this information, step forward and file reports like I have, which can lead to one of many possibilities ranging from TJ paying fines and handing out refunds, to them getting shut down...to even a lawyer strolling by one of these threads and thinking "Wow, I want that case...next stop = class action lawsuit." You never know where stuff like this can lead.

Thank you. Every time this thread link is handed out, there's the potential for many more people to see this...including all the other TJ customers out there that got screwed and thought they couldn't do anything about it.

Mike is still trying to tell me that paying another $350 to return ship that money, and then only get refunded the original $676, is a good deal and that I should do it.

Wow.

882 views so far, that's a lot more than I expected which is great. This needs some serious exposure, there's a ton of people out there that got screwed the same way I did that don't realize there are some steps they can take to get TJ back in a *legal* way...not all piling in a bus to go take care of business, as exciting as that sounds.

I'd like to seriously thank the staff for stickying this thread. More people will be able to see it now, which means other victims can get this vital info and take action, and many others will be deterred from making a huge mistake.

I'd also like to add that if Mike sees this, he will no-doubtedly e-mail me, and probably you staff guys/girls as well, with empty legal threats. He's done it to me already which you can see in my "buyer beware" thread. Don't fall for anything he says, many can tell you that he is very infamous for such tactics.
