i am looking into drag radials at the moment... bfgs are crap after 350hp... its looking like the only radial that will fit well is the 225/50-15 MT ET street II's.. i would like to go with the hoosier QTP but i dont think there is any way a 26.1" tire is going to fit under my 1.8" dropped EK and still be able to turn... i would like someone to please prove me wrong! PLEASE! post up pics and experiences please! not only is it a better tire but i like the white lettering =P

nobody? i have another question as well... should i buy four drag radials and run them on all four corners or should i get something like the bfgs to run in the rear.

you dont need drag radials in the rear... just the drive wheels.

If you aren't stuck on radials, you could try the M&H "street and strip" tires, I hear they hook well.

i know i dont need radials in the rear.. but i would rather have all four tires the same.. and be able to rotate them. my question is is it safe to have drag radials in the rear on a car that will be street driven? is my *** end going to want to slide around when i turn? I am gong with radials for sure. my goal is 600+hp this summer.. build the head and bolt a 35r up..

If you are SERIOUS about that much hp and want to run radials go with 235/60/16 MT or MH .

For the rears please don't buy drag radials biggest waste of money. If you want the car to be a little more safe while going fast on the street then buy some falken azenis for the rear. They are rated for a pretty high mph (I forget). So that way if you have to turn on the highway or something don't need to worry as much about oversteer.

Oh an you WILL have to buy coilovers and have them raised almost all the way up.

anyone who really knows what they are talking about?? ht is not what it use to be.. im getting every question i did not ask answered.. im getting MT et streets or hoosier qtp.. my question is if a 26.1" tire will fit under my lowered (kybs and h&r springs 1.8") ans still be streetable? please if you are not currently or have in the past used this setup or something VERY similar... please dont comment.. pictures and experiences would be great? Also anyone have EXPERIENCE with a FWD and drag radials on all four corners street driving?? obviously the tires are sticky... and have "tread" on them i would think they would stay stuck to the ground just fine.

I would not recommend putting any kind of drags on the rear. 1) Its a low thread count tire, so it'll be gone right away, from street driving 2) the Falken Azenis would be fine for the rear and it hooks okay. 3) Azenis are for the most part "H" rated, so they are good for about 130 mph.

On the springs, your best bet is the 225-50/15's, but only because you have no adjustability. I was told I could never fit 235-60/15's on my 91 hatcback, but I did. You would atleast need adjustable coilovers to fit bigger than the 225-50/15's.

I run 225/50/15 MT ET Street 2, previously ran BFG in the same size, difference is night and day as far as I’m concerned, the BFG’s were hooking great when they were half worn, before and after they were pretty average.
The MT don’t require anywhere near as much heat prior a drag run, just enough to shake off the cr@p.
I used MH 235/60/15 but being so tall it required far too much work to get them under the arches of my CRX, great rubber no doubt but not something everyone can get away with, wish they made the same in sport compact size.
I’ve not used my MT’s on the street, I have no need as I run an after market traction control unit (Race Logic) which allows me to put down 350 (UK bhp) with very little trouble.
Overall, the MT thus far have been very impressive for what they are (not a full slick) I 2nd gear launch at 7500rpm and I’m still nailing 2.0 in the 60 ft which I make up for by the 330 as I have 1 less gear change, 2 step and launch control will bring down the 60’s.
Based on my own real world experience the MT’s have been money well spent.
