Re: The never ending Dirty DA build
I am painting Black for now cause I cant decide on the color...
I wanted to do midori green but as soon as that idea came up I have seen so many cars around me with the same damn color... So I am just going to get the body straight and paint it black inside and out... and then go from there.

Re: The never ending Dirty DA build
UPDATE!!!
okay so today I was able to get a little bit of work done on the engine bay...
Still a lot left. I got some of the seem filler out and stripped some a good amount of paint but I stopped cause it is supposed to start raining again.
well here are some pics.
I primed all the bare metal spots so I dont get anymore damn rust...
but it is coming along slowly... very slowly
Cant wait to swap this ugly B**** out
and move this inside...
In other news I have a B18C girdle main caps and studs coming... can't wait... oh and some pr3's from a friend... hopefully this set isn't bad... if they are then I am going with the RS Machines... We'll see though...
Well time to go... more updates soon...

Update
So My Pistons finally came in and I got some work done on my head...
Valves cleaned and ready to go back in with the new springs and retainers.
The block is going to Albert at Certified on Saturday or Monday (or as soon as my ARP rod bolts come in)
Well any way here are some pictures
As soon as the Pistons came in my girlfriend decided to give me some "good Luck" with the sharpie lol
Here is the head... I got the cumbustion chamber cleaned and the intake ports smoother and polished I just have to do the exhaust and then Hot tank it...
and the nicely cleaned valves marked and ready to get back where they belong
Well that is it for now more to come later...

Re: The never ending Dirty DA build
so the ARP head studs that I had were from a B16 and I had no nuts or washers for them cause I got them with a b16 block that I picked up about 2 months ago. So I called ARP and they said that if I am using a B16 head then I should use the B16 head studs and the rep suggested that I just buy a set of nuts and washers. So I got my ARP's for $20. I love saving money. I am still waiting for the rod bolts to come in. I dont know why it is taking so long but either way I only paid $35 for them so its all good.
Its been raining for the past two days so I havent gotten any work done on the car. All I have been able to do is sort out and organize my basement. (pics will be up later)

Re: The never ending Dirty DA build
Update...
So due to the amount of rust and filler that I found on my original body I decided to look for another body...
after a few weeks of searching I found it
A pretty clean 92 only has a few minor scratches and some roof fading other than that it is mint with zero rust and zero filler...
The parts swaping already began last night
I swapped over my driver door panel cause there was a small rip in this one... and I installed my mirrors and shift **** and ebrake handle
this weekend all the suspension is getting swapped over and the engine will be installed as soon as I get my injectors and ecu

Re: The never ending Dirty DA build
Update
SO I swapped over the suspension today
That included front tokicos and coil overs, rear tokicos and coilovers, skunk2 lower control arms, rear strut bar, and my rims. I was in the middle of swapping out the rear when I realized one of my wheels was left at my parents house so I have one standard steel wheel on there. but whatever they are all black and I still cant drive for another month.
Get the license back August 6th 2009 after 2 years 2 months and 14 days... longest 2 years of my life. I'll post some pics of my daily driver later lol...
Idk about you but I love this car... Last night I also swapped over my steering wheel and finaly figured out how to wire up the horn the right way lol
I forgot to take pictures while I was swapping it but you get the idea
Next Items on the list!!!
First I am going to swap over my 91 taillights cause I hate the amber... then I am getting some one peices from albert at Certified.
Then I have to tow it to my friend's shop (No license and it's not registered yet) and have the exhaust welded up with my hi-flow cat
Then I will be documenting the engine build. I also got some good pricing to fix the roof and the fender and the hatch so I am pretty excited about that but I dont know when I am going to do it...
by the way if anyone saw my post about my brother's car getting stolen I am still waiting on him to send me the pics... you guys have to see what they did to this beautiful civic...
any way I'm out
more updates soon

Re: The never ending Dirty DA build
Small Update
Yesterday I swapped out my taillights for my 50/50's
They are a lil dirty inside the lens but I through them on any way... when I get around to it I will take them out and clean them and remove the pink lines from the clear section. I also fixed my hatch struts and adjusted the clutch. It was letting out very low and it wasn't holding at all in any gear passed 2000 rpm so I played around with the cable and realised it was at its tightest point so the clutch was partially released all the time... well now that that is fixed I only have a few more things to get the exterior and suspension finished...

Don't they know people have jobs? lolol... any way as soon as I get outa work (in about an hour and a half) I will take some shots of my progress...
