LOL migs...
Thats cool, was just trying to say that one piece of street (or track) debris sucked up into the intake could ruin your day, month and even year. |

I believe the "filter" is a velocity stack with a screen wrapped around it so no debris could enter.

what kind of things are you speaking of? Carbotech XP10's in each corner, Duralast rotors, Stoptech lines, ATE bloogoo cover the braking. The brakes work better than my tires do. the ducts are overkill for sure! was an AEM CAI. FULL BLOWN. heh Quote:
yep. the velocity stack was used in an effort to extract more power by length tuning. but we really didn't mess with it. so i should in fact get a filter on there. thanks for the kind words gents.

actually after speaking with them the only option was to use the universal. I wanted to stay away from drilling any extra holes, so i looked for other options. i stumbled upon this setup for a DC5, did a little research and decided to give it a shot. fortunately these are constructed with parts readily available to joe schmoe. for example, the brackets were milled but they only use a threaded stud in a (what seems to be) a hand tapped hole. SO, i just relocated the stud to fit my OEM hole locations. so YES in fact, i did not have to redrill on the trunk. the tricky part was getting a bracket to mount the wing, which Mel (R Box) has offered to help me do with her mill at school and sweet CAD skillz!

every decision i have made for this car has had function as first priority (with the exception of the valve cover and samco's haha.) if you have numbers to prove the wing functions better closer to the roofline i wanted to know. if its based off of what looks good then it will be disregarded. I agree, the J's wing is what i REALLY want, but 1300 dollars for something that functions equally as well is just not in the budget. -street class.
