Default DA Rear Sway bar on EF

So what exactly does the DA sway bar do to your car? I recently swapped rear trailing arms and control arms and struts off DA onto my ef, but have not done sway bar. What is its purpose and is it an easy bolt on?

If your car has the body nuts already welded into the body it is an easy bolt on.

A rear sway bar will help your car rotate more, or help counter understeer. You can basically get the same effect by removing your front sway bar.

lawlz well if you have the mind and money then both sway bars would be great if you use a honda for its true purpose (which isnt going in a straight line the whole time FYI)

so does my EF already have a front sway bar? or do I take that off the DA? I have a DA at home for parts so I am using it all. If Ef does have sway bar is the DA a better one and is it an easy bolt on. Let me know

the DA rear sway bar is 14 mm from the 2 door, 15 mm from the 4 door. and an si has a 13 i belive.
i would get an hf front sway and a da 4 door rear sway.
the hf bar in front is 15 i belive? i know its smaller than any other ef.
you know in the auto cross pictures when the car is on three wheels, thats because they have a huge rear sway.

because our hondas are prone to understeer because they are FF cars...a larger rear sway bar will help counter the understeer. a small front sway bar will do the same...usually people get larger rear sway bars.

pretty much the ideal set up. but it depends on what you are doing with your car.
for install you need si lca's and you need to make some brakets that you bolt the sway bar to; through bushings.
Worth it though.
search': dx sway bar honda tech- on google.
their is a good right up on makiing your brakets and install of a da sway bar.

Any idea which bolts fit? I removed all the Hardware from an '91 SI Civic.

I just finished installing a Tanabe Rear Sway, which I must be so lucky cause it barely fits around the custom exhaust......

Anyways, i've got everything in place bolted up, except the mounting brackets.

The nuts are welded into my DX Civic, however, the bolts i took off the SI, seem a tad bit larger......can't say what size they are, other than the fact that they tighten with a 14mm Socket.

Any ideas?

well it clearly answered HOW to put it on.

the purpose of a swaybar is just to add lateral stiffness to the spring rate of the vehicle.

Yeah, I wasn't asking how to put it on, as everything is connected except for the mounting brackets.....

I asked for the size of the bolt that would fit to tighten the brackets to the frame...

i.e. I have everything, and the bolts are slightly too big......i don't need custom brackets, as i already have the factory brackets, that line up to factory holes.

After scraping off some rust, i found that there were threads in the frame.....although stubborn, some wd40, and power tools got them in.
