Ep3 Trouble
So i have a 2002 Honda Civic Si
Motor is a k20a2 out of a Type S RSX
THe car started idleing up and down up and down (somewhat like a vacuum leak possible) after I put an RBC I/M on. I pulled it off and put the OEM PRB mani back on and still had the idle surging problem. I read the codes
The following codes came up:
P1166 Air/fuel metering
P1167 air/fuel metering
P1298 Air/Fuel metering
Came on immediatly after clearing the codes. However, after driving the car to and from school, I checked it again to find i had those plus the following:
P0505 Idle Contro System malf.
P0300 Missfire Detect.
P0301 Missfire Cyl 1
P0302 Missfire Cyl 2
P0303 Missfire Cyl 3
P0304 Missfire Cyl 4
Please help!!!

Re: Ep3 Trouble
What ecu are you using? What tb are you using? What wiring harness are you using? It is my understanding that the tb's are the same between the a3 and a2 motors but to run an a2 tb on a a3, you have to reclock the throttle position sensor....I have also read when people are doing swaps, there are 2 clips that are interchangable on the tb and if you get them mixed up, you can get something like this.

Re: Ep3 Trouble
its not like I just did the swap, the motor has been in the car and been running perfect for over 3 yrs. All sensors and harness' are from the RSX-S (PRB ECU A2 T/B)

Re: Ep3 Trouble
sorry, read like a new swap....my bad. Have you cleaned off the air flow sensor? When they get gunked up, you get all kinds of strange stuff happening.
