Default Putting couch in non-climate controlled storage?

I was wondering if anyone has put a couch and love seat in a non-climate controlled storage unit before? It will probably be in there for 8 to 10 months. The difference between climate controlled and not climate controlled is about $30 a month. Im sure someone on here has done it before, i just wanna make sure it doesnt get messed up.

I drove a box truck (similar to a UHaul truck with padded carpet in the back) I stored a sleeper sofa in the back of it for about 5 months. It was just fine.

What type of couch and what kind of weather conditions we talking here? I stored a leather couch here in San Diego for 2 years, and it came out just fine.

what type of couch is it?

Cloth=wrap it with shrink wrap, all over, really well, that will keep the dust and moisture out

Leather (real leather, not that pleather ****)= cover with blankets first, then wrap with shrink wrap, but leave underneath open. Leather needs to breathe and shrink directly on leather will cause it to discolor

You can stack light stuff on top and obviously if you're worried about it freezing(didn't look to see where you were) don't put anything in there that can burst, anywhere in storage unit, it will save you some cleanup

Its a microfiber sectional. Its gonna be in maryland. Im not so worried about freezing but im just wondering about in the summer. I think it will be alright, it doesnt get too hot here. i just dont want it to smell or ruin the fabric but its probably been kept in the warehouse anyway.

Just make sure to have a couple pails of damp rid in there. That should take the moisture out of the air during those humid days.
