the bolts where the exhaust manifold connects to the downpipe from under the car bolt got shaved....and its a bitch/tight squeeze to get a vise grip out ...its a #14 any ideas in what i got to buy now and which was would be the best and easiest

Im assuming that when you say you "shaved" the bolts you mean they rounded off? Well, Ive been there before with header/downpipe bolts, which is generally why I replace them anytime I take them off because the rust so quick.

Craftsman sells a bolt-out kit. Basically its a kit consisting of a couple universal sized nut/bolt removers. You just hammer on the bolt-out over the rounded bolt/nut and then use a larger socket to turn it out- the bolt/out has a reverse thread that helps it grip as you turn it.

Although on downpipe bolts the clearance for a larger socket is almost none (sometimes its hard enough just getting the 14mm in there). The other type of bolt-out tool is the one where you drill the a hole in the old bolt, and then tap a square shank into the hole and then turn it out.

-If neither of these work for you, then its time to get out the torch and cut that bitch out! haha
