I couldn't search for this so here's my question.

I have a 00 DX hatch. The problem is the headlights will dim then brighten and they don't do it according to rpm. Any ideas? It's dark so I'm going to check for loose connections tomorrow.

start by checking the sockets.

I'm going to borrow a volt meter from work as well. I'm new to Hondas, cars anyhow, and didn't know if it was a common problem. I've been looking through the stickies.

i know sockets are an issue. usually they build up a little resistence then start to melt.

Check voltage and loose grounds at times will also either turn the headlight off of dimm , or also could be charging system is failing?

The car just came from Michigan so it may be some salt corrosion. I'm going to check everything though.

Bad alternator?

i think you could have a bad alternator. to do a quick check, let your car idle with the lights on and see the voltage at the batt, it should read 14.6v

I forgot that my neighbor is a mechanic. I'm going to pull it in the garage after I drink my coffee and eat some breakfast. My gf said, "It does it everytime the motor moves." Hopefully it's something simple that I can fix today.

Turns out it's the battery not holding the correct charge.

Ok.. Wrong.. Alternator is only putting out 37amp.
