Default some header tests

Well, i did some header testing, lost the first draft, but will try again. As usual different engines, cams , intakes vary the results.
The first engine was a 95 stroker with ITB's and cams with too much duration for the rev range i like with a 95mm crank "8400"
I used Rage big tubes and Kidd narrows. The kidd headers made more TQ and power to 7600, the Rage made more above that. I was hoping to run the skunk headers on that engine also. Not to be. I had to run all 3 on a good 2.0 that was here.
A few notes before hand. Quality. The Rage and kidd seem similar, but Kidd's seem a little better in materials, the Skunk quality beat both of them, as it should costing more, but you do get to see what you pay for, better welds and thicker "better' tubing.
Checked the ground clearance, Rage is the worst, the skunk has a bit more than 3/8 better cl., and the Kidd about a 1/4 in more than the Skunk.
In performance the Skunks were quite a bit better on the 2.0. Max was 9BHP at 6000 and 3BHP @ 8400. Both the Skunks and Rage had dios in the curve, the Rage was worse.
From a general ranking the Skunk headers won, Kidds were 2nd, and rage 3rd.
I am hoping to be able to post some dyno gragh pics, as the printer has gone the way of the economy.
The black line is the Skunk header, bright red the Rage big tube, lite red the Kidd narrow, on a 2.0 with Pro3's punp gas 11.7-1

Thanks for the info Don. if you continue to be nice, i wont have to marry your daughter.

you showed your manliness by referring to red and pink as "red and light red". nice touch.

i take it the skunk2 might not be a great header for a 1797cc motor with little cams...

LOL My daughter being independant and has an IQ higher than dirt, I know that ain't going to happen.
I know you like "pink" that is why i refrained from your favorite color referance.
Send me a motor, all the headers you want, and a check, I will give you the answers.
A 2.0 seems to be the most popular, that was why i did the test on that.
For you 1.8 with mild cams, just get a DC or JDM "R".

Thanks for the test Don, i thank you for your time and your review.

Im happy where we came out, i expected the Skunk header to be better and it definetly is a nicer piece. But i would expect it to be because of its price tag.

I figured as long as i was around the $400-450 header market range in terms of power and performance, id be happy, looks like im smack dab in the middle.

Congrats to Skunk2, another nice product from them

I think Skunk does on there website.
The sequential firing did suprise me also, But SMSP has been saying the the same for years.
The dip is intake length, i ran the longest that would fit with the hood closed.
