I can NEVER result to online dating. I don't want to introduce my girl and when people ask how we met I have to say "online dating".

Most people I know that meet girls/guys at a bar are not happy or the relationship was not serious. Maybe I do need to go to the bar. A 31 year old lurking bars for "the one" might look bad though

Man, I went to my cousins wedding a little less than a year ago, and her drunk bridesmaid was giving a toast and made a comment about how my cousin and her new husband met on e-harmony. This was the first time ANYONE in the family knew that and it was obvious it was a secret. I almost spit out my drink and everyone just kind of looked at eachother lol.

It was so awkward for the rest of the night, and keep in mind my cousin is only 24.

It's becoming more and more common. It'll probably be just as accepted as a bar or any other "meeting place" in 5 or so years.

I still feel weird about it though and I've only met one person through the internet in my life.

Well, what I'm wondering is that do they just get random myspace pictures of girls for those ads? Some look good, but the ad I posted the girl looks busted and trashy. Let me see if I can find another one.

yes they do. I've seen random myspace chicks, random stickam chicks, I even saw danpat on one of the ads.

These girls could probably sue for using their image too, if they found out.

what's funny is some of them are like 15 year olds, for 18+ dating sites.

i was on myspace the other day and saw a dating ad with a pic of a girl someone on HT posted in the "post your g/f pics" thread like 4 years ago lol
