just look at what a J32A curve looks like with just a ThermoBlok kit(spacer or heat shield?) with no mods at all!

Careful guys. This is a good discussion so far. Don't make it go south.
When i did my swap I could not find a manual CL-S ecu so I purchased a new one. Ouch

Re: J32A2 swap into 95 Civic Si
i don't need to compare a modded V6 to a modded K24... that's the whole point.. a stock j32a would do just as good... i mean this is becoming redicoulous just throwing bigger and bigger engines on there what happened to the community where it was doing the best out of very little.. i mean THAT was a challenge...

This is a swap thread, not a k-series vs a J. These engines are a liter and a half bigger, it's a stupid comparison seeing how it's a Honda V6 that will make more power every where.
Phino's 94 coupe Dyno.
Megan racing header and 3'' exhaust with a stand alone and stock internal engine.
Now don't show up in here if you think that a K-series engine can make the same power mod for mod.

Re: J32A2 swap into 95 Civic Si
Peak power numbers is one thing. The great torque it puts out is another, but how does the short powerband and v6 transmission gearing perform together? I know with minimal modifications they will produce a great number, but what parts are out there to produce more power(naturally aspirated?).
Again, like Hasport's v6 civic in the video above. It looks to be reasonably light on slicks and skinnies but runs a 13.4 at what looks like a 108 trap. Is this swap worth it?

if i do this swap its getting a supercharger and a odessey crank and rods.
total of that swap will prolly cost as much as my b series build.
looks like my swap will be going up for sale next year hehe

Re: J32A2 swap into 95 Civic Si
So how much is left in it? For those mods and that kind of power? Will it be the powerband that eventually holds it back?
The engine, how much is realistically left in it? J swaps seem like a great idea until you want to move further than bolt ons. Forced induction can be done but there is no easy solution for engine management. Going NA is tough due to the lack of parts.
I've got a tin can with 4 wheels sitting in the garage waiting for a new heart. I'm trying to be convinced to move forward with a J swap.

Evan why dont you try and do a molded fiberglass hood with a smooth molded bulge a la kinda like the old Firebird Forumla offset hood bulge or the offset dodge neon RT/ACR offset hood bulge? Use the stockhood cut the hole out and use 'glass to mold it. Worth a shot?

How much total do you have into this swap if you don't mind me asking?
1k for wrecked CL
-600 for selling some interior
-200 for selling wheels
+90 for axle resplines
+50 in materiels
+ little $ for misc items(vac caps, etc)
Right around 350 bucks I shouldn't say, seeing how I will eventually sell the car for a premium
