i currently have a 2006 Honda Odyssey TOURING, and the tires are DONE lol. Honda wants 350$ per tire, and this is the PAX tire system. they are stupid expensive !!

so my thought is this: instead of dropping 1200 on new tires, i figure change the wheels >_>. why?? the honda technician told me the OEM wheels can only be used with the PAX tires...... is that accurate??

so tire rack has some wheels that i like, about 105-115 each wheel, and tires are around that same price. thats around 240/wheel+tire give or take a few.

my question is do i need to buy a new TPMS for these new wheels?? idk if i can take the sensors out of the old wheels and put them in the new ones (if that makes any sense) or does TPMS exist on some wheels but not all ??

i really do not want to pay 1200$ on new TIRES ALONE so it would be nice to get a new set of wheels and tires for the price. thanks guys

Get a new set of wheels and swap the sensors over. Many customers have done it with us.

Honda does not recommend switching to aftermarket wheels. the pax system is designed for the touring odyssey for a reason ...I'm a certified pax technician..gotta bite the bullet and pay the $1,200.Funny thing is the tires are only $200 a piece, the labor is the other $400 dollars..If you were closer I would do it for half for ya!!

You're an idot. I'm PAX certified too. There is no reason you can't install new wheels.

but really, to me and my situation, 1200 Vs 800 seems alot more doable. 1200 gets the new tires, yes. but the 800 gets me new tires AND WHEELS.

i thought about it and weighed the options, and the new wheels and tires seem to be better for the money.

what do you guys think of those two wheels?? im trying to go for the same 10 spoke design on the OEM wheels and im looking to get the 17 inchs.

i really like the sport edition SE-14's what do you guys think ?? /

If you're going for a/m wheels, why not go 18s or even 19s? I know I'm looking into getting 20s when I pick up my Odyssey.

Of the two you posted, my vote is for SE14.

idk....i like the way the 17s look on the van for some reason as opposed to the 18s-19. it looks like too much wheel lol. and they dont have the se14's in anything over 18, so i can stick with the original plan and try to match the new wheel to the 10 spoke design and size.

and ross, nice pic !!! thank you !! what are those 18s?? they look pretty sweet

i was thinking about getting them powder coated black or painted flat black for that different look, but i think they look nice with their original finish

We charge 2.0 a tire; and the tire sells for $249 + $29 for the gel pax.

^^^ lmaoo !!! +1 on that lol. PAX is really expensive...i wouldnt mind paying it but the fact that michelin discontinued it in general really didnt give me any confidance in them anymore.
