Default severe battery drain HELP!

Hey ht, I have been having this problem for a while now. It seems that there is something draining my battery. I have a 1990 integra ls. I have removed the stereo, the clock, and I have made sure that nothing is on when i walk away from the car. When i get to start the car the dash lights will come on but that is it. It wont even ding at me when i put the key in with the door open and the seatbelt wont move. So i have to hook up my battery charger and let it charge for almost two hours. I have a fairly new optima battery and the alternator was just replaced last year. I was told to disconnect the items that I listed earlier but it seems that nothing is changing anything. Please I really need some help here!

sounds like maybe you have a short somehwhere.

not that i know of. there really isnt anything that could not work that wouldnt be noticable. i disconnected the clock which is normally the cause of battery drain and i took out the stereo a while ago.

Check to see if hatch light is off when hatch is shut and that the glove box light turns off when shut

i know i dont have a glove box light and im not sure if i have a hatch light.

i know you said you have a newer alt. but if you have a clamp on amp meter you can check amp draw through the battery and start unplugging things until you see no amp draw. i would seriusly start with the alternator first. you havent ran (jump started) the car with out a battery have you? if you did that could fry your ecu, main relay and a number of things

I am waiting on a new voltmeter so i might be able to see what the voltage level of the battery is while the car is running and when i shut it off. I don't think I would ever run my car without a battery that would just be retarded. do you think it might help to even disconnect the fuses at the block for the things i have either taken out or disconnected?

When did you notice the problem? Sometimes when something has been changed you can pin point the problem. Try to remember when the problem started and if anything had been done to your car at that time.

Shorts are a huge PITA to troubleshoot.

it is more important to monitor amp draw, than volts in this situation, if you dont have a amp meter then you will continue to have to try one thing at a time each day
