Default ? D16Y8- Specs.

I would like to know if anybody has specs on the y8 motor out of a 98 ex. I want to built up a sleeper D. I know the Hp, but I don't know:
- torque
- compression
- alt. heads that might give better power curves
- fuel rails
- intakes
- ex. manifolds
- good ex, systems

If you have a D let me know what you are running.

MAX_CFM has some thoughts about Z6 head vs. the Y8 head.

Throw a good IM and cam and header on it with hondata and your 80% there.

my roommate has a 97 civic who has done a lot with it. the hp slould be at like 130 at the crank and 90 something for torque. single cams suck for torque. but they have a junk load of top end. compression you should be around 10.0:1 or so. that or just above. keep the stock head on there. its way better than the z6 head. your motor creates more torque than the z6 engine. aem makes a good fuel rail, i don't know who else though. don't use the v2 aem intake on your car. i've heard bad things about those. the normally designed one is nice though. if you want carb leagal headers go for dc, but if you want something beyond sissy girly everybody else performance, go with greddy, or something thats not smogable. whatever exhaust you want, as long as you get your desired sound. i know the apex n1 is popular and used a lot. i like the sound of it. good luck.
