Default Building a Engine...HELP!

Hey everyone,

looking to build a 1.6 SOHC engine for a turbo. where can i get a good price? would it be best to buy a used complete engine and rebuild it. or buy seperate used parts like the block and head? im just looking for what i should get and or look for.

My turbo and intercooler is off a 08 WRX Impreza. it can run 18lbs max. my sisters husband sold it to me for $200. because he dropped a complete stage 3 setup into his car. talk about a car that can rip. never seen a faster car than this. i believe he is running a little over 600hp at the crank and around 300 at the wheels.

thanks, Casey

Your best bet would be to find a engine for sale locally, either through a friend or a scrap yard. Are you just looking to put some pistons/rods in it? Or do you also plan on rebuilding the head? I would suggest buying a complete motor thats in good shape without any bearing issues to help minimize any headaches.

Where are you in Wa?

Must have heard wrong. And if you actually put money on that, you'd go broke insanely fast.

buy a used one and build it with someone who knows what they're doing so #1 you know what you're doing and #2 you know it's done right.
