If he drops the drill into the pool the shortest path to ground will be from the drill into the ground. Basically current won't flow up the ladder. However, if he were to fall backwards and land with the drill above his chest in the water, he might be toast.

godamn that is dangerous...at least it obviously just a temporary setup. I wonder if he knows he can buy a plug to put on the end of the cable??? and to finish it out with some crappy welds.....wtf, mine arent the best but damn those are fugly

The fact that he went to lengths to weld in the BATHROOM instead of the KITCHEN says alot about safety. Cuz you know, you can always jump into the tub in case something blows.

^ The bathroom also has an exhaust fan for the toxic fumes. So the only thing missing is a 'safety first' sticker on the top of the welder.

Re: Most UNsafe Work Eithic...
so let me explain the situation here. I own a small landscaping business and I cut grass on the side to make a few extra dollars to support my habits (racing aint cheap ya know). So I come around the side of the building at a place I cut and this is what I see, I couldnt get my phone out in time but he had that damn ladder on the barrels and was about half way up it. All to try and get A BALL DOWN FROM THE ROOF! And I dont even think he thought about how he was going to get down if he did manage to get on the roof considering the ladder was still about 4 ft short of the edge.

Totally safe. I work in water as a profession with electrical aerators and such and never once have I even been shocked. Electrical plugs and all submerged without a problem. Only way to get shocked or electrocuted in water is by holding the hot side of a connector and stepping into the water. That way the electricity has to pass threw you to get to the water to ground out.
