Now i have a civic hatch (EK) what would you guys say i get a B16A or the Frankenstein swap (b20 block with a b16 head) ..Both stock.. Im more into the road racing/canyon racing whole kinda thing. thanks any feeback is helpful

It's a bit more involved than just slapping on a head. A friend did the same thing and ended up boring it out to fit bigger high comp pistons, installing arp rod bolts, blocking off the oil port in the head, tapping a new hole to supply the oil pressure for vtec, making a pressure rated hose to carry the oil from the oil pressure switch to the new hole and a bunch of other stuff i'm missing.
If you haven't already read up on all this, you should at least know that your car will be off the road for a while. |

Doing a B20/VTEC as just like doing a LS/VTEC. It will take alot of research and extra parts to be done correctly. If you have the time and know how the B20/Vtec is a sweet swap and setup. If not go with the B16... or get a gsr block and b16 head and ITR cams for a poor mans R. That would be easier and perform better then the B20 as well as whoop on a B16.
good luck

so are you saying that a b20/b16 head will perform better than a regular b16A?

***** EASY MAN just read up on it. If your not gonna boost it get some high compression pistons. I would rather slap a gsr head on it for more comp.

If you want something reliable, get a gsr block and slap a b16 head on it. This poorman's type r motor is pretty reliable when it's built right. Those B20/VTEC swaps kinda scared me thats why I sold mines. You have to get all the right parts for it, Like High Comp Pistons, ARP Bolts ARE A MUST, and oil lines... Expect your car to be sitting for a while if you plan on doing this swap. Unless you build it on the side and swap it right in when youre finished, this will shorten the time it takes to get it done.
