Default Short Throw Shifter? (08 Si)

Has anybody here put a short throw shifter in their 08 Si? I've been finding that with my stock shifter when going to drop gears and skip one on the way down its to easy to go right past the gear you want to get into.

Opinions?

any SS will work. they all do the same thing. you can get comptech, neuspeed, strut king, corsport, and the expensive mugen.

Mugen's short shifter is an entirely different concept. Rather than extending the bottom of the shift lever on the stock assembly, the Mugen replaces the entire stock shift assembly with one that has a longer lower portion of the shift lever. They accomplish the same goal, but through different means.

As far as a short shifter for the stock assembly, I'd recommend TWM Performance. I'm using their base bushings. Good parts, great service

If you're having trouble shifting with your normal shifter and you're certain it's not related to the driver, I suggest you check to see if it's a mechanical issue first. If the problem existed with the normal shifter, a short shifter won't necessarily fix it. You'll probably shift into the wrong gear "FASTER" with a short shifter.

I have a Comptech short shifter + Amsoil transmission oil. Hard to go back to stock shifter. Install is easy and most SS's are the designed the same. Good luck!

Hi guys, just had a quick question about the twm ss setup. I was checking out their website and I notice that they sell just the ss, ss with base bushing, ss with cable bushing, and ss with base bushing & cable bushing. I have and 08 si fyi. Just wondering what setups you guys purchased.....? Thanks in advance! Also, on a seperate note......what amsoil transmission fluid do you guys use? Do they only have one? What weight? Your help is much appreciated!!!!

I have this whole setup. I installed the base bushings and shifter first. Then I installed the Transmission bushings. I will say that I noticed the base bushings more than anything. The short throw was a little better than stock. After putting the tranny bushings in I really didn't notice much difference. I still have slight play in the shifter when it is in gear. I am happy with it tho.
