Yeah I got the same thing, I just wish I'd thought about the handling benefits of negative camber before I went through with it. It handled better before the "upgrade."

Re: control arm problems leading to cupped tires
i would go get the car re-aligned somewhere else then Honda... They screwed up my alignment before and noticed the car didn't handle properly. I would strongly suggest getting it done a specialized alignment shop!

Re: control arm problems leading to cupped tires
Hey Guys. First post, long time in the back ground. I have a 06' Civic that has the same problem with tire wear from bad control arms. I'm gonna bring it in to see if I can get them replaced from the Class Action Suit. Has anyone gotten these replaced for free yet??

i believe if they send a letter out it's going to be at their expense and not yours... that is what usually happens anyways unless.

Went to Honda yesterday and they did replace both Control Arms, but when I asked about the extended warranty on the sun visors they said it did not show up??

Re: control arm problems leading to cupped tires
Hi everyone, I'm new here. Anyways, I had this same issue when I bought my 06 ex sedan last year in March. What Honda told me was that if you have 32k or less on the car they replace it no cost to you, over that mileage, your on your own. I had to pay out of pocket because when I bought the car it already had almost 132k on it. So the repair was about $477 out the door, then that same day I had to dump another $600 for new tires. I WAS PISSED! Your right Honda should have make it a recall not a stupid bulletin.

Re: control arm problems leading to cupped tires
I just bought my used 2006 Honda Civic last summer and immediately noticed on smooth roads a loud noise coming from the rear tires . I also have a 2010 Civic that I bought new , so I put those tires on the 2006 and the noise went away . I had the 06 tires checked at the tire shop and was told that the cupping was causing the noise. Found out on this forum that it was a defective design in the upper control arms that cause the cupping. Seems to me that since it is a factory defect that it should be replaced at no cost to the consumer . I will be contacting Honda about both of my cars . Don't know if the 2010 has the same problem since it only has 19,000 miles or if the problem has been corrected already on the newer Civics. If I find out , I will let you know.

I had the same problem on my 06 Civic LX.Went back to the dealer and checked out some 07 models showed them the camber problem. They replaced the upper control arms and paid for half of the price for new rear tires. This was not a recall but a little bitching in the dealer ship should get some rebate for tires.

A quick way to check is take a level must be at least 2 feet long place it on the bottom of the tire and put it on the top.Should not be out to much.My car was out over 1 inch.Make sure that the car is on level ground.

That sounds like BS to me, my 06 has 95k on it and they never said anything. I would call Honda on that one. The settlement only mentions 2006-2007 Civics, it states nothing about mileage.? Here is the link...

Re: control arm problems leading to cupped tires
I have had this issue since new. The picture in the TSB looks like my original tires. I'm going to call Honda this week and see if they are willing to do anything for me. Parts including an alignment would be real nice. I don't think that's asking much as I've been watching tires get eaten up for the last 200K miles and 8 years. This is not my only Honda.
I need this resolved before I put on my new 2013 Accord 17" take offs.
