S80 hydro guts in YS1 case with Mfactory helical lsd?
Can this be done? I have a minty S80 hydro gsr trans but an EF hatch. I also have a YS1 LS transmission that isn't in great health. I want to put the S80 guts in the ys1 cable case and get an Mfactory helical LSD for drag racing. From what I gather internally the YS1 and hydro trannies are pretty similar.
Any ideas on this or will something not work? Also which LSD will I need, the GSR (14 bolt?) type? any crazy issues with bearings?

Everything will go right in the YS-1 case. If you want to use the GSR final drive with it you will order the GSR/Type R sized diff. If you want to run the LS Final drive then order the B16 sized differential. One of the great benefits of the YS-1 is the interchangeability with Hydro transmissions.
Be sure to check all your clearances
If you have any questions..feel free to hit me up. I do this swap with every EF I put together with a B-swap...its standard practice! LOL
