Check if the jumper harness is pinned correctly with a dmm

I had a similar problem. The jumper harness wasn't wired correctly for vtec so we had to spline in and directly to the jumper. Start there and a pinout diagram would be your best friend

I don't see how vtec has anything to do with the car not starting. Are you sure there wasn't something else wrong with the wiring?

OP who did you get the harness from as well as the p28?

I was only relating that the jumper harness may be the problem. I guess around here you have to be extremely detailed when relating problems to certian people.

oh you know what. I heard of an issue with jumper harnesses. The distributor needs a jumper harness to go from OBD1 distributor to OBD0 engine harness.

There are TWO white wires that apparently, have been known to be wired wrong on the jumper. If you got a cheap jumper harness you could have an issue with the two wires hooked up wrong. One company I think fired a guy because he had wired them wrong on more than one occasion.

When trying to help someone trouble shoot why would you give a half *** posts? I just clarified that vtec has nothing to do with it not starting. As stated by your post vtec was supposedly the issue why your car would not start but what do I know..... Probably nothing

I have a obd0 distributor too. Its a jdm b16a head on a b18a block. How do i check the harness to see if its 'pinned right' ?

Would a obd1 ecu work with a obd0 distributor?
