ls crankshaft vs GSR crankshaft

as u all know i fuked up my GSR crank shaft..

im getting a 95 ls crankshaft for free from a friend.

do you think ill be losing power if i use that?

and

is the gsr flywheel still gonna bolt on to the ls crank.

it does feel like a dumb question, i would want to say "yes, i will lose power" but on the other hand its still B series...ive seen it handle vtec all the time.

i looked up the parts and they both have different part numbers..

i would buy a gsr crank, but its hard to find any for sale.

from what i have been told the ls crank is actually a really good crank i think it would be good but thats just from what i have heard...

if you picked up some ls rods with that crank you could see some power gains in your gsr make sure you use GSR or higher compression ratio'ed pistons. you would prolly need a tune after that though. Its like having A poor-mans Ls-Vtec lol. Youll get a little more torque. Just make sure you upgrade the Ls rod bolts to some arp's and get all Ls bearings. Maybe even cams and an intake mainfold

Now how about the flywheel? will the gsr flywheel bolt on to the ls crank??

what did you do to your GSR crank? if you just scared it from fried bearings it can probably be cut under.

IIRC, all the threads that hold the flywheel are stripped.

OP - it's too bad you don't live around me. there's a wreckers about 20 min from my place that has a complete B17 bottom end just laying on the ground in front of strpped DB2.

Gsr Crank 87mm
Ls crank 89mm

You'll gain a good amount of torque/power.. You'll have to use ls rods tho, so i suggest using upgraded Rod bolts, which is the only weak link in the ls block. That crank is good and strong.

And to answer your question yes the Gsr flywheel will bolt up. But i suggest a lighter one. It will spin your motor up faster.

late as **** but the ls crank is the only actual 1.8 crank. gsr/type'r are like a 1.75/76. Honda rounds up.

If you use the LS crank, you'll obviously have to use the LS rods. The GSR crank is an 85.4mm stroke; whereas, the LS is an 89mm stroke. There is a bit of displacement to gain which in turn means a bit of torque. The choice is yours...

Hey, im re-building my gsr for turbo, and i was putting the crank on the shelf, and it fell out of my hands and took a 2-3 ft drop to the concrete floor. it hit on the very corner where six bolt main is, but didnt mess up the bearing surface. Should i do any thing else other then balance?
