Default Door open(beep) noise.

Whats up yall I have a quick ? and some help would be appreciated.
My car just all of a sudden stopped making the noise when the door is open and key in the ignition.
The questions kinda obvious so im asking what needs to be re-placed/fixed.
Thanks in advance.

Yeah i hate that ish too, but its busted or broken, so im tryin to fix it.
So with the sensor does it have to be re-placed?
Any cause to why it could not be working?

theres usually a rubber coating over the sensor u could get a new one from a junk yard or honda dealer

It's actually called the ignition key reminder (aka "key-in reminder") btw.

I love the beep lol, I some times DO forget that I leave the keys in the car. No matter how annoying it is, it's saved me a few times.

Mine did that until I finally got a new key cut when i was living away from home and figured out that I could barely unlock my doors with the original key, I'd never really bothered to lock my doors before that.

Manual doesn't mention where it is. Might have to trace. I have no idea where it is.

From what my diagram tells me (not very much) its in the underdash fuse box in some sort of a combination relay that also seems to control some usefull stuff. I think I may just remove the little switch on the ignition switch on mine, i do not now, nor will i ever have an alarm so it really doesn't matter much.

It's on the back of the door jam on the drivers side. Notice, when it's going off, close your door slowly, wait for it to stop when it hits that rubber piece. I believe it's a philips head to take it off.

Does your dome light come on when you open the door?

Thats the door switch for the dome light, what this guy wants is the actual beeper unit itself, and if was gonna get rid of anything other than that it would be the actual switch on the ignition switch that knows the key is there. I like my dome light controlled by the door switch.

x2

If it doesn't then that switch in the door is bad. Not a huge PITA but remember that 9 times out of 10 this switch is used for the alarm. If that switch never closes then a thief could actually open up the door with the alarm armed and it'd never go off.

That's why you buy air-pressure sensors for the interior auxiliary part of the alarm. I have some, they work great.

new technology. if a door opens or window breaks, the alarm is triggered by the chance in pressure. only downside is I can't park with my windows cracked on a hot day because any decent breeze will trigger it.
