Re: Miata wheels on CRX
Your problem is that the center hole ID of the Miata wheels is (I think?) 54.1mm and the center hole needed for the CRX is 56.1mm. Your options are to 1) take your Miata wheels to a machine shop and have them increase the center hole ID to 56.1mm while keeping the same center location so they will be hub-centric, 2) finding something like a very small ridge reamer for lawnmower or moped engines and reaming out the center hole to about 56.1mm yourself, by hand, and hoping that the center axis doesn't drift too far off in the process, or 3) using a dremel/holesaw/hacksaw/blow torch/hammer/some other tool to crudely enlarge the hole yourself to larger than 56.1mm and using the wheels as lug-centric wheels. Honestly, IMO option 1 is the only decent one. Everything else will most likely end up being half-assed butchery that ruins the wheels. Just sayin'

Re: Miata wheels on CRX
I have never heard of spacers putting stress on your wheel bearings...care to explain with evidence?
I agree with doing it the right way. I have seen a lot of Miata wheels on Hondas and they look great.

by pushing the center of the wheel out past its original location, the outside bearing gets more weight put on it. think of it like a lever with the bearing being the fulcrum. essentially you are creating a longer lever, putting more force on the bearing. a funny offset wheel does the same.

Re: Miata wheels on CRX
but the whopping 5mm spacer is not going to put barely any stress on your wheel bearings.. sticky tires would put much more stress on your wheel bearings than just spacing them out the required 5mm..
