just bought an 01 accord lx, possible transmission problems...
ok, so i have been reading up on the internet, and the two maiin things i see about this car are the timing belt, and the transmission. i'm getting the timing belt maint. done in a couple of days, so my only other concern is the transmission.
i bought the car from a credit union that repossessed it from someone who wasnt making payments. its at 118000 miles, and i am wondering what my chances are for a goodwill repair should the transmission go out. i've seen that the warranty only lasts to 109K, and since its past that, im really hoping that a GW repair is a possiblity, b/c i would hate to know that after spending $5500 on the car i'll have to shell out more for a new transmission. as far as the rest of the car goes, it seems to be kept in good condition, and the only reason i have a concern for the transmission is b/c i sometimes get the hesitation between 1st and 2nd gear, and the engine revving up then dropping down into gear...
so basically, what are my chances at getting a GW repair for it if it breaks? thanks in advance.

My 99 starting doing the same thing. Took it to shop , they said with their scanner and knowledge couldnt figure anything out at that point without taking it out and going from there. That was gonna be 250 to 300 for labor. Next Day i ordered a reman trans for $1000 , a buddy and I put it in with no labor cost. Sorry bud think your gonna need a tranny.

All those miracles in a bottle crap dont work. They usaually end up messing it up more. And please dont flush the trans fluid. Not recommended by honda. I tried made myn worse. Honda recommends a drain and refill of 3 quarts from the drain plug on trans.

I have an 00 and did not get notified about the warranty extension, now it is expired for me. On random occasions my car won't back up. Dealership says nothing is wrong with the car since they could not replicate the problem. Honda Corp is not returning my phone calls. It is run around big time. Any suggestions for mechanical repair or how to get Corp moving??
