I've been MIA for a little while but I got a new look for 2014. Waiting for some wheels to be done and I got my car repainted since someone did a hit and run on my quarter panel.

Getting my LCAs replaced Friday with Moog units. Hopefully they improve something for me. Steering does seem a tad sloppy

Also, when braking while downshifting at higher speeds there's a pulsating sensation in the brake pedal... But stops when I shift into neutral and just use the brakes. So it's not the rotors. I'm assuming it's the LCAs being torqued on... So hopefully that's cleared up too.

Had the LCAs done.

As usual... Seized bolts the needed manipulation to be freed. Broken balljoint too, just snapped when loosening nut.

Once installed and aligned immediately noticed crisper response. Less noise from suspension when going over bumps. There use to be clunking noises that were somewhat noticeable.

There was still a pulsating feel in the brake when applied at high speed... So, I came to the conclusion that the pulsating at high speed braking is indeed pads deposits buidling up on the rotors... did a fair amount of research but this link sold me: Solved my 3rd-generation 4Runner severe brake pedal pulsation at highway speeds - Toyota 4Runner Forum - Largest 4Runner Forum

So this morning I bedded my pads in:
-drove normal stop-and-go for ~10 min.
-then did about (6) hard stops from 60-15mph
-then drove without touching the brakes or coming to a dead stop for ~10 min.

Probably at the third or forth I could really tell the difference.

March 7th, some redneck t-boned me, making a left crossing 2-lanes of traffic...

Car got repaired this past week

Looks good. My 2004 is starting to really need fresh suspension stuff done. My 2 front shocks are blown now (Tein springs on KYB shock) but lasted about ~4 years lowered. Everything just feels old and loose. Our 2009 Pilot feels so tight, like the virgin medical student. I want my TSX like that again!

Thanks man. Koni struts are on sale till the end of the month, FYI. Probably needs new bushings in the front like I did, to start. Since your car is a 2004, all new ball joint wouldn't be a bad idea either... tie rod ends too possibly.

Put the wing back on

Yeah, when I do it, im going all out. Im going to swap pretty much everything...

I actually just needed to swap the engine a few months ago.

Everyone be real aware of the timing chain tensioner and their tendency to fail after while. Mine went at 160k miles.

So now I have an engine with only 60k miles on it, its FRESH as hell. Might as well start swapping out suspension stuff now...

Just go on Rock auto .com

Front
-Moog upper control arms w/ balljoint
-Moog lower control arms (has all the bushings in it)
-Moog lower ball joints
-Moog tire rod ends

Might as well do the front wheel bearings too since the axle will be pull out of the knuckles

Those parts are all most likely of really bad quality. I've seen and installed some SHITTY parts from moog. I'd opt for genuine Honda parts.

Moog's car components aren't what they used to be. Idk how good their truck stuff is.

Get on the dealer websites like hondaautomotiveparts.com or bernardiparts.com. Good *** pricing on genuine honda/acura parts.

Yes. The plastic end links that typically last well over 100k miles. Although I'm not against buying aftermarket end links. After my experiences with the moog tie rods and ball joints I've installed on other people's cars....they're not for me.

Ball joints and tie rods from bernardi would be what, $100-150ish total?

Better quality parts cost slightly more? Strange concept.
