Xbox 360 Vertical lines on TV and multicolor pink, green, purple

Hey guys,

I wanted to post this up here cause it moves faster in GDD. xbox 360 hook up to LG 37" lCD using HDMI. Some times a couple hours into playing the screen gets vertical bars, and muti color pink, green, purple. It distorts the image so much i can't play. The only way i have been able to fix it is push the X symbol on the controler and cycle through menu bars until it goes back to normal normally 60sec or less. Some times it comes back though less than 5mins later Anyone have a fix? Should i return it for another? It's only a day old.

are you getting any sound? if so i'd say probably it's just the hdmi cord.

Check your connections. Also try a diff HDMI cable/port on your TV.
If problem persists return it. It's only one day old after all.

Go to your XBOX settings and try changing the color reference setting. Your TV might not be capable of showing extended reference.

I would figure it's a problem with the tv...

sound is perfect. Like when it messes up I can still tell im in the game COD4 and i can barely make out stuff. I'll try a different cable and hdmi port on the tv

With COD4 it normally takes like 2hours of playing before the problem occurs
With GTA4 it happens always like 15mins into

Is GTA4 more graphically intense?

So yeah visited the xbox live forums and it sounds like several people have similar issues. Also sounds like next ill end up with no picture at all. YAY

Looks like I'll exchange it tomorrow hopefully for a new one without any problems.
