Re: 93 civic stereo wiring (BiG_DeE)
Just go find you a civic 86-98 with an uncut stereo harness and splice it in thats what I did to mine the other day. ive had to do this to 2 civic and threre pretty easy if this help remove the console that has the lighter and ashtray in it for access if your wires are too short. Also all the colors are the same just use a civic harness ive also been able to use a teg harness in my old EG

Re: 93 civic stereo wiring (BiG_DeE)
Hey brother, i just did this to my car- what i ended up doing was looking at the wires that go to each of the speakers- they led all the way back to the head-unit, so that's how i knew what was what. Hope this helps!!

I believe Honda radio wires have their designation printed on the wire itself, look with a magnifier, it's small print, like an asprin bottle instructions

Re: 93 civic stereo wiring
Ok so im new here and I just got my first honda civic last week. Its a 93 coupe EX. The wiring harness was cut and I was using the diagram to wire up my new deck and it was working perfectly until i hooked up the right front speaker. When I hook it up all the other speakers make no noise and I get a buzzing from the right front. Any ideas?

Re: 93 civic stereo wiring
ok this might be stupid but my constant in my car is white/blue instead of blue/white does that matter? because i hooked up my ground switch and constant and the head unit is not working....i cant figure it out my fuse works fine cause my cig lighter and clock both work but my constant and switch both dont have power...can someone help me

Re: 93 civic stereo wiring
Get a multimeter and test the wires. It's odd to have both a bad constant and switch. Did someone hack up your harness? If it's really screwed up, you can find another harness or run the constant to your underhood fuse box (closer to the battery, better quality power) and the switch to the under dash fuse box where fogs would hook up.
The radio and clock aren't on the same circuit. Check your fuses, do the job right, don't hack it up like a 16 year old who thinks they are a pro at wiring and run random wires all over.

Re: 93 civic stereo wiring
Ok everyone, so I just did this little wiring job for the first time since I get my stereo stolen every other day lol...The wiring harness diagram below is correct for my 1994 Honda Civic, However the Car Radio Constant 12v+ wire is NOT Blue/White, it is White/Blue...not a big deal if you hook up all the other wires it is the only one left lol...buuuuut my problem was that the constant wasn't putting of 12 volts, while my switched 12V+ was. Here is the deal, the constant is meant to supply constant 12 volts to the stereo, so that when you turn the thing off, it doesn't reset itself. I had hooked everything up the right way and I was getting 0 power. So, I took a voltage meter and measured the voltage from the wires...with the constant I was getting about 2-4 volts with the car off, and the switched was giving like 13-14 volts...problem is, which a lot of you might be having, the constant isn't putting off enough power, so if you wire the wire coming from the stereo that is supposed to be for the constant as well as the wire from the stereo that is supposed to be for the switched, to the wire coming from your car that has 12 volts or more, in this case mine was the switched not the constant, then you should get power. However, since there is not constant voltage the stereo will reset itself to factory defaults every time you turn the car off. I am not sure how to get around this at the moment, but at least I have power to my radio. so again, the wires coming from the stereo that you have, should be 2 of them one meant to be to the switched and one to the constant, both attached to what wire you have voltage from coming from your car(get a volt meter and check the voltage, radioshack has them)....hope this helps

Re: 93 civic stereo wiring
I have the same problem as apositano.. my new XD1225 stereo won't turn on on my 93 civic.
with my voltmeter i get 12V+ from the red switched wire but only 3-4 from the yellow / constant wire.
Ive checked both the car's fuse for stereo and the fuse on the yellow/memory/constant wire. they new.
voltage is 12V at the battery terminals..
need help please where/ what can i check..
thanks for your time
