Default how to use the Honda-Tech Instant Message (aka: IM or PM) system

after seeing people post saying they do not know how to use the feature and being asked to post on how to use I quickly did this how-to.

If you are using a pop-up blocker you will need to allow pop-ups from honda-tech.com.

I use Firefox... In Firefox and I believe Internet Explorer if you are blocking pop-ups you will see a highlighted drop box appear at the top telling you the browser is blocking a pop-up. When you see this, you should click the "Options" button...

You will then be presented with a list of options where you will want to allow the pop-ups...

After that the drop box will disappear. Then you will want to refresh your screen by pressing the "Refresh" button in your browser or by the F5 button on your keyboard...

Next you should see the IM message pop-up since it is no longer being blocked.

Now, if you want to send a user a message you can do it one of two ways...

First way is to click on the IM symbol ( ) under the users name/avatar/info...

The second way of sending a user an IM is to do so through their profile. When viewing the users profile you can click "Send Instant Message to InsertUserNameHere"...

Lastly, if you want to go back and view previous IM conversations that have taken place within the last 7 days, you can do so by clicking on the "My Profile" link in the upper right corner on the screen...

...then click "Instant Message History"

Then you will be presented with a list of user names you have spoken too within the last 7 days. Click on the user name to view the conversation. Remember after 7 days the message is removed from the system. So if someone sends you a link or some info make sure you save it or it'll be lost after 7 days.

Hope this helps some of you out.
