and looked up my driver license number

i have 3 citations i did not apear for dating back to

I'm comfused cause the status on the first tow says sent to colletion...my question is do just pay the collection agency or do i still need to go to court?

GCS is the name of the collection service - GC Services.

You do not have to go to court, they decided you were guilty already and now you just owe the fine, plus additional fees from the collection agency.

My wife is an attorney, and she was able to move one of her mom's tickets from GCS back to LA superior traffic court because her mom moved and never received the notices, and she was able to just pay the civil penalties and no collection agency fees. However, unless you know a lawyer, it's not worth it and you should probably just settle the matter with GCS.

No, it means it went to collections already. It probably means that GCS can come back to court in 2012 if you never comply (i.e. pay) with the collections agency, and the court can revisit the issue.

If you go to that GCS website and enter the citation, you will see how much you owe and when it is due, and how much it will keep going up if you don't pay.

You should not assume that your hold is released once you set a court date. May clerks will simply ignore the drivers license hold when setting a court date, and will not tell you if you can get the hold released. You must ask about the hold to get info on how to clear it. An attorney can go to court for you and clear a 40509.5 hold.
