1992 Accord LX - D4 Light Blinking
I've run into the D4 light blinking before, but it usually was associated with the car not starting... I'd give it a few minutes, try again, D4 light wouldn't blink, and the car would start. I figured I wasn't giving the fuel pump enough time to get going before trying to turn it over.
FYI - I have a new torque mount (front engine mount?) that needs to be put in, and front right axle replaced. The car lurches whenever I put it into gear.
Well.. I just went to go try and start my car about an hour ago, it started, however the D4 light blinks before and after the car is started. It felt like it went into gear, but I didn't even try to pull away.
Checked the tranny fluid level, and it seems fine.
So... now what? Try to drive it to some national auto repair chain and check the codes? Whats are best case, worst case and most likely scenarios?
I have to work monday...

I would have it checked out, so long as it drives it shouldnt be too HUGE of a problem. Dont quote me on that though. It may soon be time to swap to 5 speed

To begin the diagnostic process, you will need to jumper the Blue 2 pin service connector, turn on the key and watch the D4 light for the code.

My friends '95 Accord has the blinking D4 also, tranny is acting up plus his speedometer went out.
Its the speed sensor thats mounted on the trans.
Btw, do you have a Check Engine light ON?

Shorted out the blue 2 pin service connector and got the codes 1, 2, 7, 8, and 14.
Check engine is not on, and I have never seen it on.

Try checking your main relay. Located high under the dash. I have a 92 Accord EX and I had the same problem. So frustrating! I tested the ignitor coil and it ohmed bad (replaced it). All other starting components were fine. But when I started reading other forums about the main relay over and over again I decided to make the effort!! Was well worth it!! Click the URL at the bottom of my reply it'll walk you through all the steps! Also, I took a large magnifying glass and you could see the cracks at the solder joints! Just look REALLY close at each joint and all around it as it is hard to see with the naked eye! I almost missed a cracked joint. Have had zero problems since the fix! Hope it works out for you!!http://techauto.te.funpic.org/mainrelaydefine.php
