Like the thread title says, how can you make sure a set of RG I's are the real deal? Any telltale signs that a set is a replica? I'm looking into picking up a set and I need to know what to look out for.

Oh ok, so that's not just a sticker? People don't just buy replicas and have that sticker printed to make em look like real advans?

i guesss they could but I think that blue is painted on the lip. Some one correct me if im wrong

nobody makes a good replica of the RG (thank god).

I think the Konig Renegade is the only one that I know of and it's pretty obvious that it's a fake.

You are correct, there aren't any RG knockoffs to my knowlesdge. I bought a set in gold and as mentioned there is an advan label on the inside of the wheel as well as the lip that has the advan racing motif through it

Can I get a pic of the advan label on the inside of the wheel? Does it straight up say "Advan" or "Yokohama" on the label? Is the label in japanese?

rg's are a nice wheel, they are one of my favorite wheels so thats why i got a set for my gf ride. But they are a cast wheel not a forged wheel so they arent as strong as other wheels in the same price range. my girl has been daily driving on hers for over 2 years now and there isnt any stress cracks or anything like that.

heres the pics of the stickers on the inside of the rims, Its the best i could do without taking the rims off. And the advan racing on the blue stripe is painted on, they arent stickers.

I know this thread is mad old but it has some misinformation and of course none of the pictures are viewable anymore

rota makes replica advan rg1's the are called "rota RMS"

they come in silver white or gold just like the advan rg1's did



unfortionately "ADVAN Racing" on the rgi is just a sticker so it would be easy to replicate this



the first thing i would look for would be the blue valve stems & valve caps, although this is optional most of the rg's i've seen have had them



my rg's did not have any "ADVAN" stickers on the inside of the rim but did have these japanese ones
