Gas smell, tell me if this is ok
Ok, I just started my car and revved it a few times to about 4K rpms. Everything was fine. I turned the car off and it smells of gas out by the exhaust. It doesn't smell on the inside. The car has a LS swap with 2.5" test pipe, 2 3/8 piping and an RS-R axle back. The car also had the gas tank replaced with a civic standard model. The car itself is a 90 Si. I also just started the car up since it was sitting overnight. Sorry for sounding like a newb

Is the gas smell from the exhaust? Because when you first start your car in the morning your ecu gives it more gas and rpm to warm up the car.
Does it smell if you run it for ten minutes ,then shut it off wait ten minutes and start it again and try to smell it again. This way your car will be at operating temp when you start it and the ecu should not add more fuel.

Yes, it's from the exhaust. It doesn't smell after I run it for ten minutes and shut it off and on again.

Also the cat is not warmed up either so it is doing nothing.
This is normal. Also when you just start a cold car you should not be hitting 4 grand for a few minutes. Unless you want to replace the motor soon.
